Thomas Kingston, who was the ex-boyfriend of Pippa Middleton, has sadly passed away at the age of 45.
A statement posted by Kingston’s wife, Lady Gabriella Kingston, Mr. Martin and Mrs. Jill Kingston, Mrs. Joanna Connolly and Mrs. Emma Murray, read: “It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother. Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family, and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing.”
Thomas was reportedly found dead at an address in Gloucestershire, England, on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were immediately called once Kingston was discovered and arrived shortly after.
Thomas’ cause of death has yet to be determined but there are reportedly no suspicious circumstances or other parties are involved.
A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said that King Charles III and Queen Camilla were notified about Thomas’ passing.
“The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family,” the palace said in a statement. “In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family.”
Lady Gabriella, 42, and the well-known financier were joined in matrimony in 2019 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. The wedding was attended by several members of the royal family, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and prince Harry.
Kingston had previously dated the younger sister of Kate Middleton, Pippa, 40, who has moved on and is now married to James Matthews.
Though the “Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends” author and Thomas ended their romance in 2011, they remained close friends.
