Shanna Moakler jumped the gun in revealing her pregnancy earlier this month, now confirming that she is, indeed, not with child.
“OK, I am not pregnant,” Moakler confirmed in an exclusive statement. “I received a false positive test due to the fact I had taken a hormone called HCG to help me lose weight for ‘Big Brother.’”
She further explained: “It is the same hormone that is produced when a woman is pregnant resulting in the false positive.”
But even though the 46-year-old model is currently not expecting, she says having more kids in the future is “not out of the question for me.”
Moakler announced the faux-pregnancy in a statement to People on March 3, one week after her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Matthew Rondeau, was arrested for felony domestic violence.
“I took a pregnancy test, and it is positive,” Moakler, who did not say anything about the baby’s father, said at the time. “This has been a very difficult week, but I’m taking everything day by day.”
Rondeau, 29, was arrested on Feb. 24, shortly after he posted a controversial Instagram video in which he called Moakler a “f–king whore” and other expletives, in addition to claiming she was not over her ex Travis Barker.
“I am never talking to this f–king specimen of a f–king human again,” Rondeau spewed in the frightening video.
Worried fans reached out to the reality star after seeing Rondeau’s video, causing her rep to release a statement about the incident.
“Thank you to everyone calling with concern about Shanna,” her manager, David Weintraub, said at the time. “She is OK and survived this traumatic experience.”
Moakler was previously married to Barker, with whom she shares son Landon, 18, and daughter Alabama, 16, from 2004 to 2008. She also shares daughter Atiana, 22, with ex-fiancé Oscar De La Hoya.
