It’s no surprise when musicians are accused of cheating, but it’s still wrong!
Jason Derulo’s ex-girlfriend Jena Frumes accused the singer of “constantly” cheating during their on-again, off-again relationship.
When the model, 28, posted a mirror selfie in a bikini on Instagram Thursday with a caption about being “worth it,” a hater slammed her in the comments section.
“Worth it in what way?” the troll asked. “You’re not married, which means your child is a bastard and you’re playing the whore role. Y’all got morals mixed up.”
Frumes was fast to respond, writing that while her and Derulo’s September 2021 split was unfortunate, she wouldn’t call herself a whore.
No girl/woman goes into a relationship thinking the man that claims to love them will leave them. Most go into a relationship in hopes of marriage and starting a family together.
The New Jersey native went on to write, “We once did aspire to be married but maybe it’s best to be single than to be in a relationship & constantly be disrespected & cheated on and lied to. Or is it better to stay quiet so people like you approve?”
She shared a lengthier statement on her Instagram Story, telling her 4.8 million followers that “no one aspires to be a single mom.”
Frumes, who shares 1-year-old son Jason Jr. with Derulo, wrote, “It’s the biggest heartbreak and failure for me personally knowing I’m alone in this when I wanted love and wanted marriage & the happy family unit. But if your non-negotiables are being tested, you’ll never find peace in that relationship.”
“I can’t be the only one working to make that happen,” she continued. “If a man wants a different girl every week over his family … I’ll never be OK with sharing a lover that I love with all my heart!”
Frumes even spoke about how she raises her child alone and receives zero child support from Derulo.
She and Derulo went public with their relationship in March 2020 and quarantined together amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The couple announced she was pregnant in April 2021, with their baby boy arriving the following month.
Unfortunately, that September, Derulo revealed their breakup via Twitter.
“Jena and I have decided to part ways,” he wrote at the time. “She is an amazing mother but we feel being apart at this time will allow us to be the best versions of ourselves and the best parents we could be.”
While the on-again, off-again couple sparked reconciliation rumors in May, they ultimately decided to stay apart.
