A Nicki Minaj fan claims the rapper shoved him as he tried to get a selfie with her during a chaotic meet-and-greet in London on Monday.
In a TikTok video captured by user theyluviish, a mob of people could be seen surrounding the rapper, 39, who begged them to “back up.”
Ignoring Minaj’s pleas, the fan leaned back against her, ignoring her personal space to take a video.
As he showed a peace sign with his fingers, Minaj could be seen telling him to “back up” before he was seemingly shoved out of the way.
“Nicki Minaj literally pushed me omg,” the fan claimed in the TikTok, adding, “My fave literally touched me.”
The fan further claimed in the comment section of his video that he was “just happy Nicki touched” him. “Thank you Nicki for stopping by,” he concluded.
The incident happened after the rapper, who had performed at the Wireless Festival on Sunday, took to Instagram Live Monday morning to announce she was hosting an impromptu meet-and-greet in Camden Town, London.
Hundreds of people showed up at Cafe Koko. They mobbed Minaj as soon as she arrived. She took to Twitter to beg fans to get out of the streets so she could properly meet them as she shared a video of the mobs.
“Guys, if you don’t get in a contained space they won’t let me get out the cars. Pls don’t run in the streets. Please get in 1 place. 1 line.”
Police were forced to surround the rapper and decided it was best to escort her back to her car so they could get a better handle on the crowds, but ultimately had to cancel the event.
“In the interests of safety the event managers took the decision that the event would not go ahead,” Camden Police tweeted on Monday. “Members of the public are advised not to travel to the area … Crowds are leaving and police remain on scene. No arrests.”
