If Ray J had “One Wish,” it would be that haters lay off his new tattoo.
The rapper decided to ink an elaborate picture of his sister on his leg earlier this month. “I had to start with my best friend!!” he explained on Instagram.
However, some of Ray J’s fans were disgruntled and commented how they felt on his post.
One fan called his tattoo cringe, while another described it as demonic looking. A third through in the comment, “Get your s–t together!”
Ray J had his own message to share in response to all the haters. “It’s my leg, it’s my sister,” Ray J said, before admitting that Brandy was a little uneasy about the tattoo tribute at first too.
As for the design’s “bloody eyes”, which led one commenter to joke, “Why she look high???”, Ray J urged people to check out artist Alexey Mashkov’s Instagram.
“That’s his style. I can’t tell an artist not to put his signature on it,” he said.
“I love my sister and that was just a symbol of me saying thank you for putting me in. If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here. I’m humbled just to have her helping me.”
While Brandy didn’t like the tattoo either initially, he added, it’s growing on her now.
The tattoo displays Brandy with the words “Best Friends” scrawled across her forehead and “4 Ever” on her cheeks.
According to ray J’s Instagram post debuting the design, Ray J plans to get the entirety of his leg covered with music, love, scriptures, the vocal bible, family, ghosts, positive words, and more.
In 2021, Ray J similarly showed his sibling some love by tattooing Brandy’s name on his arm, using the font seen on her 1994 self-titled debut album.
Brandy appreciated the gesture, gushing at the time, “This is real love. I couldn’t have asked for a better brother.”
