Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter Vivienne is all grown up!
O’Donnell, 60, is proud of her daughter and says she is having a wonderful experience while attending college at the University of Delaware.
O’Donnell shared an update on her 19-year-old’s college experience on Monday, one year after Vivienne graduated from high school.
“She was on the dean’ list,” O’Donnell gushed. “I was very proud of her. She’s a great student, and she’s loving college.”
“She got her own apartment, and she’s good,” she continued, praising Vivienne for doing the best she can in school.
O’Donnell shares Vivienne with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter, as well as children Parker, 27, Chelsea, 25, and Blake, 22.
O’Donnell, who also welcomed Dakota, 9, with late ex-wife Michelle Rounds, then reflected on Vivienne telling her TikTok followers in August that being raised by someone like her wasn’t always normal for her kids.
“At my birthday parties, this beautiful woman would always come, and I was like, ‘Yeah, there’s Mo,’” the student explained in the social media upload. “I never had any idea who the f–k she was. … Then I find out it was Madonna all these years.”
Vivienne noted that she had the same experience with Oprah Winfrey.
While O’Donnell threatened to spill Vivienne’s “secrets” in a response video, the former talk show host clarified in Monday’s interview that she and her daughter were teasing and poking fun at each other at the time.
O’Donnell called the exchange “just comedy,” adding, “She called me first and said … ‘For most people, it’s not normal to have a lesbian icon as a mother who fights with the president while you are in high school. That’s not normal.’”
Last month, Vivienne shared another “storytime” video about her childhood school, where one of her classmates was Alicia Keys’ eldest son, Egypt.
“She would just be walking around campus just as, like, a normal parent,” Vivienne recalled of Keys. “No one would react in any type of way … and that’s kind of beautiful to me.”
She shared how “grateful” she was to have been kept out of the spotlight as a kid.
