Austen Kroll from the show “Winter House” is placing on the blame on taking Ambien, a sedative for treating insomnia, as to why he spilled so many secrets during Season 2.
“I legitimately thought that I was taking a sleeping pill, but apparently if you fight off the sleep on Ambien, you like trip and wander around like ghosts and talk to people,” the reality star, 35, said. “I was trying to be good! I was like, ‘Austen, go to bed and this Ambien will help you go to bed.’ And in fact, it did the opposite.”
Craig Conover, 33, Kroll’s best friend and co-star, added, “Seeing my best friend take the medication was one of the most amazing things that happened on the show. Austen thought it’d be good to start taking Ambien before ‘Winter House,’ and it leads to something absolutely amazing that happens. Trust me you won’t want to miss seeing it on the show.”
Conover also said, “Fans will get to see him telling people secrets during new episodes. Like he is just wandering into rooms and talking to people. The funny part is that Austen has no memory of his sleepwalking and gossiping sessions when he woke up the next day.”
“I was like, ‘I went to bed at 11:30 right?’” Kroll recalled. “And Craig was like, ‘Dude, you were in my room at 2.’ I was like, ’No! That was the opposite of what I wanted to do.’”
Kroll and Conover also said that “Summer House” Season 6 airing while “Winter House” was filming played a major role in the drama that goes down.
“We started to pick up on real quick that a lot of the Hamptons people had some serious beef that didn’t even make sense to us, so I think everyone just had their own fights,” Conover explained.
Season 2 of “Winter House” premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
