Christine Brown from “Sisters Wives” is single and ready to mingle after her messy split from Kody Brown.
Brown, 50, publicly revealed that she left Kody Brown, 53, back in November 2021. Shortly after it was confirmed that she had moved back to her home state of Utah from Arizona.
This news shocked many, since she had been married for more than 25 years.
Brown wrote on her Instagram on November 2, “Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave. We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”
The former couple spiritually married in 1994, and they welcomed kids Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Ysabel, Gwendlyn and Truely during their relationship.
In addition to Christine, Kody is married to Meri Brown, Janelle Brown and Robyn Brown.
The exes split was heavily documented for all to witness on Season 17 of the TLC show. During the September 18 episode, Kody vented about his frustrations over Christine’s decision to end their relationship.
“This feels like a major injustice that’s being done to me, and it galls me,” he said during a confessional, adding, ”I just can’t let it go. I don’t know why it’s such a struggle. It’s curling my toes. I need some grief counseling or something. I don’t know what’s going on here with my attachment. I can’t let go.”
Meanwhile, Christine reflected on the problems in their marriage while talking to Meri, 51, Janelle, 53, and Robyn, 44, during the October 2 episode.
“It’s no secret that Kody and I have been in a rough spot for a long time,” she told her fellow sister wives. “I have decided to leave Kody. It’s a hard decision. I need to make a choice for happiness. I need to make a choice to have joy in my life and peace and there hasn’t been a lot of hope at all until I decided to leave. I feel strongly this is the best choice for me.”
Since the couple’s split, Christine has voiced her desire to find love and even getting married again.
Despite feeling ready to put herself out there, Christine admitted she was waiting for Truely, 12, to feel comfortable with the idea. “I talked to Truely about it the other day and she’s like, ‘Mom, I really like our life how it is now.’ Down the road,” she said. “I’m just going to let fate take care of that one.”
“I want a guy who actually loves me and wants to be with me intimately,” Christine continued. “I just want to be an example to my kids more than anything. I always told them, ‘Do what’s going to make you happy,’ I have to do the same.”
Looking back on her marriage Christine said, “I started thinking maybe this isn’t working for me. And then I stopped believing in polygamy. I realized I didn’t really want to live it anymore. I didn’t like sharing a husband or feeling like I wasn’t important.”
Right now Christine admits that she is casually dating.
“I’m not in the mood for any kind of a serious relationship, so one or two dates per person is all I’m gonna allow right now,” she explained. “However, maybe getting married again in the future would be nice.”
