Nicki Minaj has incurred a fine subsequent to her brief detainment by authorities at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on suspicion of possessing drugs.
Confirming the incident, Dutch authorities stated, “We have just released a 41-year-old American woman who we arrested this afternoon at Schiphol on suspicion of exporting soft drugs,” on X Saturday afternoon.
Following discussions with the Public Prosecution Service, she was fined, enabling her to resume her journey.
The precise amount of the fine remains undisclosed, and representatives for the rapper have not responded to numerous requests for comment.
Earlier in the day, the “Starships” artist disclosed on X that police discovered marijuana in her luggage.
Expressing frustration, she wrote, “😩 now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent.”
She further asserted, “My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him.”
As a consequence of the incident, the scheduled “Pink Friday 2” world tour stop in Manchester, England, on Saturday night was postponed. A new date has yet to be announced, with the Co-op Live arena expressing disappointment over the inconvenience caused.
In a series of earlier tweets on Saturday, Minaj insinuated that her arrest in Amsterdam was orchestrated to hinder her world tour.
Alleging sabotage, she claimed, “They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me.”
Additionally, she accused her former management team of financial misconduct, stating that they overcharged her for private jets and pocketed the excess funds.
In her most recent update to fans, Minaj mentioned her visit to the police precinct to provide a statement about her security.
However, she has not addressed the arrest on social media since 10:51 a.m. ET.
