Jax Taylor has made a bold claim about his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, alleging that she has “been sleeping with” someone since their separation was announced.
Early Wednesday morning, the “Valley” star took to Twitter to make the accusation, but quickly deleted the post. Despite his efforts, several fan accounts managed to capture and repost the screenshot.
“You may want to ask Brittany who she’s been sleeping with for the past 4 months….” Taylor wrote before removing the allegation from his X account.
However, the post was up long enough to attract attention and prompt reactions from netizens.
One person responded to Jax Taylor’s claim by saying, “I truly hope he’s the hottest MF on this planet. Good for her. You really think you did something here @mrjaxtaylor 🥴,” while another exclaimed, “Thank GAWD it’s not you! 🙌🏼🙌🏼.”
Another commenter noted, “Not a single person looks at your situation and doesn’t recognize the problem. You need to find some self-awareness,” while a fourth critic added, “Why would you be treating your wife and mother of your son like this on a public forum? Do fame and TV mean that much to you to air your dirty laundry for all the world to see? Disgusting.”
A further dissenter remarked, “Well he wasn’t sleeping with her! What does he expect? I guess he doesn’t like the turned tables.”
Some speculated that Taylor might have meant Cartwright has been sleeping with him. Less than a week before his insinuation, Taylor had mentioned on their joint podcast that they were “open to dating other people.”
Cartwright announced their separation at the end of February after nearly five years of marriage.
“Marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” she said in a podcast episode at the time. “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.” The Kentucky native, who shares a 3-year-old son, Cruz, with Taylor, did not “get into too many details” as it was “still very hard to talk about.”
Since then, fans have watched the deterioration of their marriage on Season 1 of “The Valley,” during which Cartwright revealed that they had sex “twice in the past year” leading up to their split.
“We’ve been together nine years, and people stop appreciating and take you for granted after some time and that should never happen in a marriage,” she elaborated in a conversation.
The Bravolebrity referred to Taylor, 44, as her second “toddler,” claiming she does “everything” for their child. Cartwright, 35, also mentioned that they fought “a lot” when she “was making more money” than him.
She reached her “breaking point” one morning after a perpetually hungover and “mean” Taylor screamed at her “for hours.”
“Just imagine what I’ve been through behind closed doors,” Cartwright later told her Instagram followers.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s past and present co-stars reported hearing rumors that he was cheating on Cartwright, which he has done before during their marriage. Taylor denied the accusations indirectly.
Late last month, Taylor was seen getting cozy with a mystery woman just a day before being photographed on a lunch date with model Paige Woolen.
It’s unclear whether the unidentified woman was Woolen; however, Taylor quickly denied the romance rumors, telling his X followers, “I am not dating anyone and I wish you all knew the full story of this situation. It’s not what you think. 😔.”
