Meghan McCain has joined the chorus of critics against Jennifer Lopez.
On Friday’s episode of her podcast, “Citizen McCain,” co-hosted with Miranda Wilkins, the former “Outnumbered” co-host described the “I’m Real” singer as “deeply unpleasant” during their interaction on “The View.”
“I, too, share similar negative stories that the entire world does. I feel bad because we’re reaching a point where there’s bullying happening to J.Lo,” McCain said. “She just is a deeply unpleasant person. She had the biggest entourage I’ve ever seen when she was on ‘The View’. More than Kim Kardashian and the president.”
McCain, 39, added that she didn’t really understand why it was needed.
The “Bad Republican” author also claimed that Lopez, 54, was involved in having one of her TikTok videos taken down.
In the clip, McCain mentioned that the “Selena” star was not her “favorite” guest on “The View.”
“She had our video taken down,” she claimed, adding “allegedly” since there was no proof Lopez was behind the violation notice.
Though the video was reinstated, Wilkins joked, “We’re beefing with her right now.”
A rep for McCain told Entertainment Weekly that they do not know how or why we received a violation notice. We pressed ‘appeal’ and the video was reinstated in a few hours.”
TikTok’s reporting process involves both automatic detection technology and user reports, making it impossible to know who reported the video.
McCain also recounted an instance where Lopez allegedly had an employee holding “a mirror with lights while they were touching her up backstage” throughout her visit.
“I was a host at ‘The View,’ she was not nice. You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful,” McCain said. “When you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment … just fake it ’til you make it for 10 f–king minutes.”
Despite McCain’s negative experience, her podcast guest, Carlos King, shared a different perspective, recalling that Lopez was “so nice” when he met her early in her career.
“She was so nice, and she didn’t have a big entourage. Now look, I’m not a dummy. She has since become, like, this global superstar,” the producer, 44, said.
“Megan knows I love Vegas. I went to see J.Lo in Vegas and top five shows I’ve ever been to in my life. She performed and danced for 90 minutes straight, no break. She’s a hard worker, and I was shocked that people weren’t buying the tickets.”
Lopez has had an eventful year. The “Hustlers” actress recently canceled her upcoming tour to spend more time with her children and is reportedly heading for a divorce from husband Ben Affleck.
Additionally, a source said last month that the Bronx-born entertainer’s Las Vegas residency was in trouble after her album and tour flopped.
On the bright side, Lopez’s new Netflix film, “Atlas,” has reached No. 1 on the streaming platform.
