Howie Mandel recently opened up about a terrifying incident involving his wife, Terry, during a trip to Las Vegas.
The “America’s Got Talent” judge shared the shocking story on “Live with Kelly and Mark” on Monday, describing a night that spiraled out of control.
Mandel recounted that he and Terry, his wife of over 40 years, had been enjoying a wild night in Sin City.
“We partied hard,” he admitted. “It was too much. Terry had a bit too much to drink, and I didn’t realize it. In the middle of the night, she got up, and I have no idea where she was headed, but she walked straight into a wall.”
Mandel said he awoke after hearing this loud thump sound and his wife shortly yelling in pain afterwards.
The situation quickly escalated as Terry fell and hit the wainscoting.
“She hit it on her eye as she went down, then fell to the floor and broke her cheek,” Mandel explained. “I woke up and asked, ‘Where are you?’ She replied, ‘I don’t know.’”
A photo shared by the former “Deal or No Deal” host revealed severe bruising and cuts on Terry’s forehead and left eye. Mandel, 68, detailed the horrifying moment he found his wife, also 68, covered in blood.
“I turned on the light and saw blood pooling around her head. She was face down in the corner of the room, and I didn’t know she’d cut her head. I freaked out,” Mandel confessed. “I picked her up and put her on the bed. There was blood everywhere. I grabbed all the towels I could find, but they were quickly soaked. She kept asking for ice, but I had no idea where to get any.”
The harrowing experience left Mandel shaken, highlighting the dangers of excessive drinking and the importance of being aware of loved ones’ conditions.
“When she did that, I saw her head, and you could actually see her skull. It opened up,” he said. “I freaked.”
Mandel rushed his wife to the nearest hospital, where she was quickly treated for her injuries. Luckily, she has now made a full recovery after managing to leave the ordeal behind her and fairly unscathed.
Mandel later revealed, “I’ll tell the truth, Terry didn’t just have an accident due to alcohol, she took some gummies too. We think that where it all went wrong. Thankfully she is all okay now.”
“She is absolutely perfect,” he finished. “There is not a scar. She is beautiful.”
