Model and influencer Sarah Talabi is playing coy amid rumors that she and Timothée Chalamet were “kissing and dancing” at Coachella 2022.
“I was at Coachella this weekend, as well as the Revolve Festival, and a few other private parties. That was me in the photos; my twin sister, Leah Talabi, was there, too,” Sarah tells Page Six in an exclusive statement. “We were all just hanging out and vibing with the music. It was the greatest night of my life.”
While Sarah, 22, confirms she was, indeed, the woman seen next to Chalamet, 26, in photos and videos circulating online, she is steering clear of chatter that they locked lips.
“Everyone is asking me if I was kissing Timothée Chalamet at Coachella, and that is a good question,” her statement continues. “But a great question would be asking our world leaders why the Earth is now losing 1.2 trillion tons of ice each year due to global warming and why climate crisis reform has been completely ineffective.”
Sarah, who has modeled for Victoria’s Secret, adds, “I encourage you to contact your local representatives and ask them that.”
While Sarah is choosing not to confirm or deny romance rumors, she did take to social media Monday to share that she had hung out with the “Call Me by Your Name” actor.
“Had the best time with the best group of people,” she wrote on her Instagram Story, tagging Chalamet’s handle along with sister Leah and a friend.
In another post, Sarah wrote, “Best night of my life” along with a video from the music festival.
Rumors started swirling around Sarah and Chalamet after they were seen together on the official Coachella livestream during Swedish House Mafia and The Weeknd’s headlining set. Tipsters also claimed to have seen the duo looking cozy in the crowd.
“Timothee Chalamet was dancing with and kissing Victoria’s Secret model Sarah Talabi at Coachella,” one witness alleged to Instagram gossip account Deuxmoi along with a photo of the stars smiling as they danced together.
But another spy told Deuxmoi that Chalamet was also seen with models Chantel Jeffries and Cindy Wolf, to which the owner of Deuxmoi wrote, “I don’t know who Sarah Talabi is but you guys are telling me she isn’t in that pic…bottom line is Timmy hung out with a lot of different women this weekend, just let the kid live.”
A third person pointed out that Sarah confirmed on her Instagram Story that she was with Chalamet, while a fourth sent in a tip that Chalamet was spotted with “a bunch of VS models in the VIP section of Neon Carnival” along with Leonardo DiCaprio, Jared Leto and Tobey Maguire.
Sarah, who boasts 1.5 million followers on Instagram, is a Nigerian model, activist and co-author of “The Intersectional Feminist: How to Amplify Marginalized Voices in the Feminist Movement.”
Model Sarah Talabi has been getting threatening messages amid rumors that she and Timothée Chalamet hooked up at Coachella 2022 over the weekend.
“I’ve received death threats and hateful messages from Timothée fans,” she said in a statement exclusively obtained by Page Six on Wednesday. “This is not OK and they need to stop.”
We’re told angry fans have been bombarding the 22-year-old model with frightening direct messages and public comments.
“Don’t think you can just kiss Timothee and walk away unharmed,” another publicly commented on her Instagram.
“Girl I’m warning you to stay away from Timothee or else,” a third person wrote, adding a middle-finger emoji.
Talabi told us she worries for those leaving hateful comments because “they are battling their own demons.”
She continued: “I hope they consider therapy and get the help they need.”
The Nigerian model added that she’s not ready to make a statement on her relationship status with Timothée.
