That’s the way she’s gotta have it!
Ciara’s husband Russell Wilson pulled off quite the sweet surprise, catching the “Goodies” singer unaware as she posed for photos outside an event for Ten To One Rum in Los Angeles.
The NFL quarterback, who has been gearing up for his first season with the Denver Broncos after a decade with the Seattle Seahawks, posted a video of the moment to his Instagram.
At the top of the clip, Wilson, 33, can be seen crouching with a giant bouquet in hand behind some foliage before sneaking up behind Ciara.
While cat-walking for the camera, it appears that the “Body Party” performer suddenly heard her husband of six years teasingly begin to whisper, “strut, strut, strut, strut”, prompting her to turn around and run into his arms.
“Oh my gosh! What the heck! What are you doing here?!” Ciara, 36, exclaimed as the two embraced.
In the post, Wilson didn’t pass on the opportunity to archly take ownership of recent shade thrown his way in the form of NFL linebacker Channing Crowder calling him “a square” on an April episode of “The Pivot” podcast, writing in the caption, “Stay Squared Up my friends.”
Crowder had initially gone even further, insinuating that the Grammy-nominated musician Ciara had gold-digging motivations in coupling up with Wilson in 2015 following her breakup with rapper Future the year prior.
“If Russell didn’t have that bread Ciara wouldn’t be with him … You don’t leave Future and get with Russell Wilson. It’s a type. Everybody has a type,” Crowder said in the rant before concluding: “I love him on the field but he’s a square.”
However, Crowder walked back on the comments he made about Ciara in an episode of “The Breakfast Club” released earlier this week, saying, “Bringing up Ciara, bringing up the man’s family, I’ll take that back.”
But he couldn’t help but double down on his description of Wilson.
“Have ya’ll seen Russell’s videos?” Crowder protested to “The Breakfast Club” hosts. “Have you seen, ‘Mr. Unlimited’?! And, this goofy s- -t he does?! I don’t know why so many people were mad at my opinion of Russell Wilson is a square and a lame. I didn’t call him an alcoholic. I didn’t call him a deadbeat dad. I didn’t call him a pedophile. I called him lame!”
Wilson, meanwhile, continued to make good on his “square” lifestyle late into the night, posting two clips to his Instagram stories of Ciara dancing, the first overlaid with the text, “My love. Always Leveling Up”, and flirtatiously writing over the second one, “She’s tellin’ me sumthin! Time to go soon…”
