Three officers drew guns on wrestling star Jeff Hardy during his DUI arrest earlier this week.
A video shows that Hardy apparently did not comply with the initial instructions of the Florida Highway Patrol, which pulled him over in Volusia County in broad daylight.
Eventually, after the officers drew guns on him, Hardy did get out of his white Dodge Charger and sat on the ground for questioning.
An officer informed the 44-year-old Hardy that “several” people had called 911 to report him for erratic driving.
Asked where he was coming from, Hardy said North Carolina. Asked where he was going to, Hardy again answered North Carolina.
One officer asked Hardy if he had been drinking because he smelled alcohol on the wrestler’s breath. Hardy answered that he had had two or three drinks. On a follow-up question, Hardy appeared to say that he had taken double-shots of Fireball.
A field sobriety test showed Hardy unable to completely maintain balance while undergoing the procedure to follow an officer’s pen with his eyeballs without moving his head.
The ensuing police report said Hardy had a blood alcohol content more than three times over the legal limit. It was his third impaired driving arrest in under five years.
All Elite Wrestling founder Tony Khan announced Tuesday that Hardy has been suspended without pay, and cannot return to AEW until he has completed alcohol treatment and maintained sobriety.
