Lauren Conrad bravely spoke about her saddening experience with ectopic pregnancy before finally being blessed with 2 healthy sons.
“The last few days have been hard. I’ve been searching for the right words, and reposting someone else’s didn’t feel quite right,” the “Hills” alum, 36, wrote on her Instagram Story Tuesday. “I wanted to share my own experience with lifesaving reproductive care.”
Conrad explained that she suffered an ectopic pregnancy “six years ago” while “trying to start a family” with her husband, William Tell.
“Due to prompt medical care, doctors saved my fallopian tubes, allowing me to have two healthy pregnancies,” Conrad went on to write, referencing sons Liam, 4, and Charlie, 2.
“Yesterday I read about a woman with this same condition having her ectopic pregnancy rupture, and facing death, while waiting for treatment,” the former MTV personality continued. “Because her doctor was on the phone with his lawyer out of fear of losing his medical license (for using a D&C as a tool to help establish the diagnosis of an ectopic pregnancy). This is heart breaking.”
While “talking about abortion is hard … scary and sad and confusing,” Conrad urged her social media followers to listen and “respect” stories like hers.
“I hope someday we will be in a place where every woman has access to the healthcare she needs and the freedom to decide what happens in her own body,” she concluded.
Since the Supreme Court overturned its landmark 1973 decision Friday, many other celebrities have come forward with their abortion experiences, from Ireland Baldwin to Hilarie Burton.
“I chose me, and I would choose me again,” Alec Baldwin’s 26-year-old daughter said of her decision in a TikTok video Sunday. “It’s your life, it’s your choice.”
As for the “One Tree Hill” alum, 39, she wrote via Instagram Tuesday that Roe v. Wade protected her right “to have miscarriages without scrutiny” as she and Jeffrey Dean Morgan struggled to conceive their now 4-year-old daughter, George.
Lauren Conrad is as tone deaf as many in Hollywood are. ELECTIVE abortions are NOT those due to ectopic pregnancies as these are indeed, life and death instances. But when you have women who, because of laziness, or their career choice, or their baby is the wrong gender, decide that their baby MUST DIE,THAT IS NO DIFFERENT THAN WHAT SUSAN SMITH DID IN DROWNING HER TWO TODDLERS BECAUSE THEY WERE AN INCONVENIENCE TO HER NEW LIFESTYLE. I bet Ms.Conrad and others pointed their fingers at Smith (judging her terrible for what she did, and she was), but they “forget” that when they CHOOSE their baby must die in order for them to live as they wish-they ARE the same as Susan Smith and her ilk. What we Pro-life supporters are saying and will continue to say is that 99% of abortions are done for CONVENIENCE, nothing more and THOSE are the abortions that are senseless murders because the babies are in no way a threat to the lives of their mothers. Shame on Lauren Conrad for supporting a law that WAS wrong and had NO BUSINESS passing in the first place as Killing one’s baby is a “RIGHT” NOT FOUND IN THE CONSTITUTION; in fact in a humane, just and GOD-Worshipping country, it’s not found or approved at all!
I totally agree with you!!! These celebrities need to keep their woke opinions to themselves. She’s lost all respect.
