It was a shock when the young 18-year old Tyler Sanders suddenly passed away.
It has finally been revealed after investigation, Sander’s death was caused by a drug overdose.
Sources close to the actor, who appeared on the thriller series 9-1-1: Lone Star, revealed that he also had a history of drug use.
According to police, the room where Sanders died included drug paraphernalia, including white powder and a plastic straw.
The Fear The Walking Dead actor was found dead at his home in Los Angeles on June 16.
Sources connected to the investigation told the outlet that some of Tyler’s friends had called the police requesting a welfare check after they weren’t able to get in touch with him following a night out.
Officers had found his non-responsive body upon arrival in his home.
Tyler’s father David Sanders appeared to confirm that his son’s death was related to drugs during his funeral service in Houston, Texas.
While delivering the eulogy, David shared with the crowd that his son had died from an apparent overdose, according to one of the people at the service.
His father indicated that Tyler may have struggled with mental illness recently, and he said that his son’s brain was wired so as to not allow him to feel happy.
During the eulogy, he also repeated some of his son’s own words for the attendees in tribute to him.
It was reported that Sanders had been struggling with depression that began during his stint filming his single 9-1-1: Lone Star episode back in April.
Depression seems to be a common mental health issue that many child actors find themselves feeling and enduring.
An official cause of death is still pending from the coroner, and it’s not expected to be released for another four to six months.
