Punk rock drummer D.H. Peligro, a cornerstone of the band the Dead Kennedys, has died at the age of 63.
Peligro, whose given name was Darren Henley, died Friday in his Los Angeles home, the band announced in an Instagram post.
Police on the scene stated that he died from trauma to the head caused by an accidental fall. Funeral arrangements are to be announced shortly in the coming days.
“We ask that you respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughts and words of comfort,” the Instagram post read.
An autopsy report to confirm the actual cause of death has yet to be released.
However, it was stated that Peligro was discovered dead in the bathroom of his San Fernando Valley home and had hit his head, but the head injury may have not been fatal.
