No need to fret, Al Roker is in very good hands.
Hoda Kotb confirmed on the “Today” show Thursday morning that her colleague is back in the hospital after being treated for blood clots last month.
“Due to some complications, he is back in the hospital, and he is in very good care,” Kotb, 58, told viewers. “He’s resting, and his doctors are keeping a close eye on him.”
Kotb also shared, “Al and his family are grateful for all the well-wishes and love being sent their way in the recent weeks.”
Kotb also revealed that she and Craig Melvin recently FaceTimed with Roker, who gave them a “big thumbs-up.”
“We will see you back here soon, my friend,” Melvin, 43, added.
The news Wednesday that Roker, 68, was taken out of his Upper East Side home on a stretcher and rushed back to the hospital last Friday, left many fans and loved ones worried.
Close sources to Roker said, “His wife, Deborah Roberts, looked frantic as her husband was loaded into an ambulance, so much so that she unsuccessfully tried to smash a window in their Tesla to retrieve her cellphone.”
“Deborah then went to the hospital by taxi with her daughter, where Al has since been surrounded by his family,” the insider shared.
Roker revealed via Instagram on Nov. 18 that he was first taken to the hospital with a blood clot in his leg which sent some clots into his lungs.
