Matthew Perry has been laid to rest, along with all his personal struggles that he battled, in a section of a LA cemetery most known for keeping other Hollywood celebs.
The “Friends” star’s casket was placed within the walls of a corridor called Sanctuary of Treasured Love at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills.
The private burial site is situated behind gates and also serves as the final resting place for Michael Clarke Duncan, who starred alongside Perry in the 2000 comedy film “The Whole Nine Yards.”
The former co-stars’ deaths have some eerie similarities.
Perry and Duncan both died at the age of 54; Duncan passed away in 2012 of a heart attack, and while Perry’s cause of death is still not known, it has been reported that he had gone into cardiac arrest in his final moments.
The Sanctuary of Treasured Love is located in Forest Lawn’s Court of Remembrance, where other A-list stars including Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Sandra Dee, Andy Gibb and Bette Davis are also buried.
There was a rather large flower arrangement placed at Perry’s gravesite following his funeral service last Friday, but it has now been removed and appears rather bare.
Perry was honored by an intimate group of friends and family, including his “Friends” co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc, at his memorial.
Aniston, 54, was reportedly one of the first people to arrive at the solemn gathering and kept to herself once inside the service. Sources said the actress is really struggling with the loss of her friend.
Matthew’s mother, Suzanne Perry, father, John Bennett Perry, and stepdad, Keith Morrison, were also photographed attending Perry’s funeral.
A few days prior, Suzanne and Morrison were seen visiting Forest Lawn with some of Matthew’s surviving sisters and a cemetery employee. They were all wearing black and seen walking around the landscape at the vast plot of land.
It was a great shock and tragic end when Perry was found dead inside his LA home on October 28. His assistant found him unconscious in a jacuzzi following an apparent drowning.
Preliminary toxicology reports reportedly showed he did not have fentanyl or meth in his body at the time of his death. However, the full autopsy results have been delayed as additional testing is still needed.
