Taylor Swift, who is no stranger to putting on the best show, had to stop for a few moments as she gasped for air during her Eras Tour in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
A fan videoing the concert shared the clip online and it showed Swift struggling to breathe right after singing her hit song ‘Bejeweled’ at the end of her hours-long concert.
“OMG… this breaks my heart in so many levels,” one concerned fan wrote on Twitter in response to the video. “She’s so professional but watching her like this, my best wishes go to her.”
“I’m also thinking about fans that had to endure those crazies temperatures… take care people and stay healthy!” the post continued.
Many fans chimed in stating Taylor is 33-years old and in great shape, so it definitely had to be the dangerously high heat that caused her to lose her breath.
Several others commended her for postponing Saturday night’s show after fans attended the previous night’s concert in nearly 100° F temperatures.
Swift, 33, announced Saturday afternoon she would postpone her concert out of consideration for the safety and well-being of her fans, fellow performers and crew.
The postponement was a decision made after Ana Clara Benevides, who attended the Friday night concert, died following a cardiac arrest due to the high temperatures.
Benevides documented her journey to the Eras Tour on social media Friday, showing herself waiting in line for hours to score a good spot in the general admissions area of the stadium.
Benevides was able to take a few photos before she collapsed and medics tried to resuscitate her at the stadium for 40 minutes before she was taken away in an ambulance. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it to the hospital and passed inside the ambulance.
Swift later took to social media to mourn the tragic loss of Benevides, writing, “I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it.”
Swift added, “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends.”
