Dolores Catania revealed that Teresa Giudice’s “emergency medical procedure” last week was was to have an appendectomy.
“She had her appendix out,” Catania told E! News on Monday. “Now it just takes time to heal. But it was emergency surgery so she’s in a lot of pain.”
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, 51, added that she “just spoke” to her co-star and unfortunately, “she’s not well.”
Giudice, 49, has been back home since Friday.
“She’s not feeling good at all. It’s bad,” Catania explained. “She’s in a tremendous amount of pain.”
Catania and her boyfriend boyfriend Paul Connell sent Giudice an Edible Arrangement over the weekend, while co-stars Jennifer and Bill Aydin sent flowers.
Giudice was admitted to the hospital and underwent an “emergency medical procedure,” and was told it was “non-cosmetic.”
“She is in recovery, currently resting, and she thanks everyone for their prayers and well-wishes,” Giudice’s rep told us at the time.
Giudice’s 21-year-old daughter Gia first broke the news and asked for prayers.
“Such a trooper. I love you,” she captioned a photo of her mom in a hospital bed.
The mom of four has been busy thanking all her friends for sending over flowers, cookies, and other goodies on social media, but has yet to address the actual surgery or her recovery.
Giudice’s fiancé Luis “Louie” Ruelas has not commented on his bride-to-be’s recovery, although Jennifer Aydin tagged him in her Instagram Stories dropping off goodies at their house over the weekend.
