A disturbed boyfriend and actor accused of brutally stabbing his estranged girlfriend, an acclaimed Hollywood makeup artist, multiple times, was apprehended in Texas while attempting to flee to Mexico.
Nick Pasqual, 34, allegedly broke into Allie Shehorn’s, residence in Sunland, Calif., around 4:30 a.m. on May 23 and subjected her to a vicious attack, inflicting numerous stab wounds. Shehorn, 35, sustained severe injuries, including slashes to her neck, arms, and abdomen.
The talented artist, recognized for her contributions to projects such as “Rebel Moon” and “Mean Girls,” was discovered later that day by her surrogate mother in a distressing scene marked by bloodshed.
Describing the harrowing discovery, Christine White, Shehorn’s surrogate mother, expressed shock and horror, stating, “This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anybody.”
Pasqual faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary, and causing bodily harm to a domestic partner.
Additionally, he is accused of inflicting serious injuries on the victim in the context of domestic violence.
Pasqual will be extradited to Los Angeles County to face these charges, potentially resulting in a life sentence if convicted.
The attack occurred shortly after Shehorn obtained a restraining order against Pasqual, citing previous incidents of violence and abuse.
Shehorn had accused Pasqual of assaulting her on multiple occasions, including incidents involving physical violence, destruction of property, and sexual assault.
Following the attack, Pasqual fled the scene, prompting a nationwide search. He was apprehended at the US-Mexico border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, according to the California district attorney.
Expressing sympathy for the victim, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón condemned the heinous act and emphasized the importance of holding perpetrators of domestic violence accountable.
Meanwhile, Shehorn has been making progress in her recovery, as indicated by makeup artist Jed Dornoff, who set up a fundraising campaign to support her medical expenses.
Shehorn has been moved out of the intensive care unit and is showing resilience in her journey toward recovery.
Despite the challenges ahead, Shehorn’s determination and courage are evident as she takes positive steps forward.
Her contributions to the film industry, particularly in the realm of makeup and special effects, have been widely recognized, earning her accolades and awards.
She has also won several awards for her makeup and special effects work, specifically on horror movies. She has worked on numerous popular films including the “Rebel Moon” movies, the “Mean Girls” musical remake and “Babylon.”
The fundraising campaign has garnered significant support, reflecting the widespread concern and solidarity for Shehorn’s recovery.
